Yakima RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5 Y02476- Video

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima LongHaul 4 Bike Rack for two-inch hitches, Part Number Y02476. Now, this is actually also designed to work with RVs and campers, but if you're hauling this behind your RV, you can also utilize this with your vehicle here. This will work with two-inch hitches, and we'll start by focusing on the arms out here first.On the ends of both of our arms, we're gonna have the Yakima patented bottle openers that you'll find on most of their bike racks. Then along the backside, we're actually gonna have an integrated cable lock that you would pull out from the back, wrap around the bikes in the front, and attach to this point here so your bikes are secure, and this is keyed alike with the hitch lock, which we'll get to a little bit later.The cradles are stationary, but they do have this super cushion material as well as on the zip strips here to help protect your frame once it's being installed, so it doesn't get scratched up. It's gonna grip your bike at three points. We're gonna have two zip strips up at the top as well as one off to the side, and that's gonna serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth causing bike-to-bike contact.A little tip about the anti-sway cradle, you can push these up out of the way, and that's gonna make loading and unloading these bikes a lot easier, and I'll show you that in a second. more

The Yakima Long Haul is going to be a great solution to get your bike with you whether you're going to the camp grounds, or even going across the country. Once you have all three removed we can go ahead and take our bike and set it aside so we can take a closer look at some of the features. I always like to replace the zip strips, that way I won't have to worry about them getting lost or damaged. In each one of our cradles we're going to have a nice, soft padding that's not only going to keep our bike secure, but it's also going to prevent any kind of scratches or abrasions to the paint.Also, at the end of our arms here we're going to have integrated bottle openers, so at the end of your bike ride if you feel like popping open a bottle of your favorite drink you'll be able to right here. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Dr.Tray 3-bike platform rack for 1-1/4" hitches, part number Y02474-02475. The Yakima Dr.Tray 3-bike rack is a platform-style bike rack that grips your bikes by the wheel hook up at the front and the wheel strap at the rear, not requiring any frame contact. Therefore, it can carry a wide variety of bikes, such as fat bikes, mountain bikes, and road bikes, and most alternate frame bikes as well. It also keeps your bike secure with this integrated locking strap. One of the best features about this bike rack is that it can tilt away from the vehicle with all the three bikes still attached to get rear hatch access. Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia we're test fitting the SportRack Ridge 5-Bike Rack. It's designed for 2 inch hitches and it is a tilting bike rack. The part number for that is SR2405. As you can see we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you how we secure the bike down to the rack and then also some features of the rack itself. SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're doing a test fit of the SportRack Ridge Hanging Style 5 Bike Rack, designed for 2 inch hitches. The part number for this is SR2405. The first thing we'll do is go over how the bike is strapped down. We've got 2 cradles and then 3 straps, 2 on the frame here and then one is your anti-sway strap in the back. It's going to keep a lot of the movement out of the bike so you won't damage your vehicle or your rack. To release those, we just pull down and lift up, and we save our anti-sway strap for last. Then we can just pull our bike off the rack and set it off to the side. more
